1. Figure Drawing Template/Traceable
This is the figure that you will use to help draw all the rest of your clothing. Make sure you are satisfied with the shape and proportions because it is the basis for any design you draw. You can have more than one. Make sure it is outlined in black marker so it is easy to trace.

Essential questions:
How can i use my sewing skills to create and develop my design?
This is very important.
You must decide what part of your design you want to make.
THEN
You need to create a PLAN of how to CREATE it! Use youtube, google and ME to help formulate this plan.
HERE IS AN EXAMPLE!!
In this step by step process please include:
A list of materials that you will need to sew your clothing piece that includes thread, fabric (color/texture/pattern) and the pattern you want to use. Make sure you add in numbers. For example.

Clothing Practice
This is where you just have some fun drawing clothes for practice. Draw as much as you like, but I want at least 2-3 full realized drawings. That means there are details in the clothing (buttons, bows etc.) and it has been colored in thoughtfully.
To do this successfully you should use the internet or actual clothing examples to practice different time periods, styles and trends. Gather this research in your GOOGLE DOCs. You'll be using it to help explain your work when you peer assess.
When you finish go ahead and cut out your three designs. Find a piece of construction paper and mount them with tape or glue. Be sure to sign your work!
Clothing Drawing Checklist: Feel free to copy and paste this into your journal while you peer assess!
Argue:
___Student can defend their choices using the design elements (I used this color because…)
___Student can take construct criticism and apply it to their work at least in theory.
Be Precise:
__Clothing is fully colored
__Clothing details are present- buttons, zippers, bows, textures etc. can be clearly understood
__Clothing is free to eraser marks, smudges etc.
Investigate:
__The student has a bank of research in their journal that has a clear connection to what they’ve drawn.
__The student can describe their clothing using style specific vocabulary- (This is a tulip skirt, pencil skirt etc.)
Innovate:
__The student has styled their clothing using their own point of view and they can speak about it.
__The student has used their research in a new way to develop their own point of view.
Peer to peer Evaluation
When you've finished your clothing practice, gather all of your research in your google doc and find a partner. If you are having trouble finding a partner, ask Caitlin for help! This can be done in larger groups, just make sure each person is being assessed by someone else. Click on the guide below, copy and paste into your google doc and fill it out using your partner's work. When you finish, share this with your partner so they can put your feedback in your journal as well! You know you are done when you have TWO peer evaluation guides. One for YOUR work that your partner did and one YOU did for your partner.

Coaching with Caitlin
Once you finish with your peer to peer evaluation, make any edits that your partner may have suggested that you think would really help your work.
Come find Caitlin! If she is busy, you can move forward into the next part of this Weebly until she is ready to see you! You and your partner can coach with Caitlin together if you want!
