HOW DO I SUCCEED IN THIS COURSE?
1. Feel empowered- each day in class you have an option to work towards something you feel passionate about. 2. Choose a task and stay on task. You are driving this "car." Don't take your eyes off the road! 3. If you feel lost or unmotivated- please ask for help. As your teacher in this class you can think of me as a tour guide. There are many different ways to get to your end product. 4. Find a partner/friend to help pace yourself. Set goals together. Keep an eye on our pacing calendar. Having someone to help you out besides me will be very beneficial. 5. Use this website! It is a guide! 6. Keep track of your assignments and make sure you get the feedback you need from me. I will be working to do the same thing. 7. Enjoy yourself! |
WHAT WILL IT LOOK LIKE?
1. WORK DAY: These are the days that you have the most independence. When you come to class you get to work on whatever part of the project you decide. 2. CHECK-IN: This can look a few different ways. I may come sit with you and talk about what you're doing. Sometimes I will take notes and share them with you on the google doc we keep together. It may ALSO look like you coming to ME. You may need help with something or clarification or to ask for guidance. 3. FULL CLASS INSTRUCTION: There will be some days that we will come together as a full class. This is usually to give feedback to each other about our work and to share our progress. There may be also a skill or concept that I think the whole class needs help with, so I may stop your work day and ask for your attention with the entire class. 4. PARTNERS: You should find 1 or 2 classmates to work alongside. That doesn't mean they are doing the same thing as you- it just means that they are there to help and support you. 5. SHARING: These days are for our exhibitions. There will be visitors in our class and we will be performing/showing the work that we have created. |
